Eulogy of Great Gatsby
Gatsby’s Eulogy
How do we measure a man’s achievements? When do we say that he has
lived a full life and that he made it, in order to die in a blissful place? What constitutes the
right time and place to die? Or is there one? Do we move to a better place or our we
destined to be stuck in this world, time and time again, to make the same mistakes over
and over again? What happens when we die? Are we ever really where we want to be? Do
we ever achieve that perfect day, where everything comes together in a sort of misty haze
but it all makes sense and it all feels right? Is death really an end or a new beginning?
These are some of the innumerable questions that fill my mind at this time
of loss and death but also a time or unforgettable memories and love. My friend James
Gatz or as I had always known him Gatsby, was a man who filled up the room. His
