Five Easy Pieces
Five Easy Pieces is a brilliant character study of a rough-neck California oil-rigger who turned his back on his wealthy musically talented past. In the first part of the film we look further into the life of Bobby Dupea. He is an average Joe who in his spare time bowls, drinks, plays poker, and occasionally cheats on his girlfriend. His girlfriend, Rayette, is a waitress at a diner who is also an untalented aspiring country singer. She is the perfect compliment to Bobby’s blue collar lifestyle. After a period of self-imposed exile for twenty years as a blue-collar worker, he returns to his home for a final visit when he learns that his father after two strokes is on the verge of dying.
