Japanese amaerican citizens

    Dear Japanese-American citizens, The war in the 1940’s affected nearly everyone in the world. Many lives were lost in battle and many homes were destroyed. The Japanese government chose to attack the United States, at Pearl Harbor, with a great military force. Since that attack and until the end of the war, most Japanese-American citizens were interned in camps on the West Coast. They were forced out of their homes and held in military like camps (Document 1). For the Americans, this was the only choice for the people who in our eyes were dangerous.
