The Lord Of The Rings:The Fellowship Of The Ring
In the book The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring by J. R. R. Tolkien, the main character is a hobbit named Frodo Baggins who was given a ring by his cousin Bilbo Baggins. The other main characters were the members of the Fellowship of the Ring: Gandalf the Grey, the hobbits Sam, Merry, and Pippin; Gimli the Dwarf; Legolas the Elf; Boromir of Gondor; and a tall, mysterious stranger who called himself Strider. The story is set in Middle-Earth. Middle-Earth is made up of Gondor, Rohan, Mordor and the Shire. One of the characters, Gimli the Dwarf, reminds me of my old friend in Oregon who likes to compete with me just like Gimli competes with Legolas.
The story begins when Bilbo Baggins celebrated his eleventy-first birthday afterwhich he presented his younger cousin Frodo with a ring. This ring, which turns out to be the One Ring, forged by Sauron, the dark Lord, who filled it with his own power so that he could rule over all the other rings of power crafted by the Elven-smiths.
