“Don’t Ignore the Arts”
In this essay “Don’t Ignore the Arts,” Harold M. Williams. Discusses the importance of art and how it affects our society. He explains that art has been ignored by many institutions and many students have little or no information of the importance of arts. Harold directs his questions to parents and educators when he asks, “If children are taught to look and understand what they see, isn’t this a failure to prepare them for life in the contemporary society?” He believes that if we educate our students on the value of art, and don’t ignore it, students will become much more educated, and to be educated is to be visual. I agree that art programs should not be ignored. In schools that have art programs, the children perform better than those without art programs because children are able to express themselves, their feelings and their dreams.
