Descriptive essay on 9-11

While in school on the morning of September 11, 2001, I heard over the loudspeaker that a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City. The first thing that came through my mind was that maybe it was a small single engine plane that was flying too low; it didn't seem like an issue of serious concern at first, but then I started to really wonder what happened . Then a second interruption by the loudspeaker informed me that it was an airliner that was deliberately flown into one of the World Trade Center towers; my Latin teacher nearly fainted from shock and we students, in turn became very concerned about what was happening. In the following hours at school and for the rest of the day at home I learned from the news broadcast more about Osama Bin Laden and his terrorist organization in Afghanistan, the El Quaeda, than I could imagine. For the remainder of the week, these events were the top story. Thousands of lives were lost in less than an hour, but they will never be forgotten. In the area around where the twin towers once stood, there wasn't a single fence or wall that was not
