Dwarfism
This medical condition affects roughly one in every four thousand children born in America. There are an estimated two hundred types of this health condition. This is none other then dwarfism. The most common type of dwarfism is Achondroplasia. Dwarfs, or short people, still live fairly normal lives and have their own sports league.
Achondroplasia is the most common of all the types of dwarfism. The gene for this health condition was discovered by a team of scientists from the University of California in Irvine. The average height of a dwarf that has Achondroplasia is about four feet. Seventy-five percent of those with Achondroplasia have normal sized parent. If both parents have Achondroplasia the chance of living is very small, they are most likely to be stillborn or dies shortly after being born.
