What is the Matrix
What is the “Matrix?” The Matrix is a false reality that is created by an artificial intelligence and is powered by human pods. In reference to Reusseau, the matrix would be seen as society and its rules. Things that people call “real” are just fragments of their imagination because what is said to be real is not what it seems; and what is said to be the world we live in, is not what it seems either. In the movie Morpheus tries to explain to Neo that everything around him is false. He is trying to get him to see that because Neo is the key to unlocking the mainframe to exit the false world that was created by the A.I. The point is to get Neo to see for himself that once he realizes that what’s around him isn’t real he can free his mind to break the system. The “system” would be society and its leaders that make rules to suppress everyone under them. In America, man is said to be born free. Reusseau says, “the man was born free and everywhere he is in chains.” The freedom is how a person is able to work the system. The chains are how the system is set up to stop certain things
