What Purpose Does Literature Serve?
Literature allows for different people to have different perspectives. If a piece of literature is too rigid, or does not have a broad enough scope to appeal to the readers, then it will probably not be read very much. Good literature is adaptive, so that no matter whom the reader, they can enjoy the literature in the same manner as the next person. It doesn’t necessarily have to conform to them individually, but to simply allow for their own unique position.
Literature, generally needs to be comfortable to the readers. For a person to remain interested in something it has to appeal to them in some way. It must be interesting, or contain informative information that they are looking for. Literature needs to serve a purpose, and it also has to do something.
