Bill of Rights

    Gun Control “A well-regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a Free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.” These words form the entire text of the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States. Gun control has been debated since the Bill of Rights was written. We were given the right to bear arms, but citizens abuse this right and that is why we should have a stricter gun control law. In the last twenty years, gun control has been hotly debated with one group advocating stricter control of weapons and the other side claiming a constitutional right to bear arms. The Constitution of the United States was created for free speech, freedom of religion, right of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The Second Amendment is the right of the people to keep and bear arms. If we allow gun control to get out of hand, and the Second Amendment is violated, it could lead to the destruction of other Amendments. The National Rifle Association and other members of the gun lobby cite the Second Amendment as proof of their Constitutional right to own guns. However, they rarely recite the entire amendment. Instead, they simply quote the last half of the sentence as
