Why Hockey Should Not Be Canada
Hockey is just about the worst sport I have ever speculated. The Leafs may have bagged the game yesterday night, but don't expect me to honk my horn or plan a playoff party. The NHL is holding its Stanley Cup tournament, but I'm holding my nose. Slowly but surely over the years, I have found myself developing a hate for the national sport. There's no greater thrill than watching players play for make-or-break bundles of cash. I speak for guys here who are really obsessed with sports with good sportsmanship. Hockey is no longer the graceful sport of lightening-fast moves and spectacular saves. What really makes up a hockey game these days are the players who are nothing but selfish role models; the stench of violence gliding into the souls of young players and society encouraging its innocent victims to turn a blind eye towards hockey’s downfalls.
Have worshippers at hockey's holy grail been blessing out on a crisp pass, a stunning wraparound, and the elegance of a clean breakaway? Oh no. Current excitement centers on Toronto's Shayne Corson kicking New York's Eric Cairns in the stomach. Boston's Kyle McLaren nailing Montreal's Richard Z
