Vietnam landmines
Final Draft Essay
Nguyen Thi Hang was doing her daily chores when she lost her right foot. As she was milking the cows, she saw a slight rise in the ground. And even though her brother screamed “Don’t step there!" But it was too late! WHOOMP! Her left leg was jammed upward. Her face plowed into the mud-covered ground. Dazed, she rolled over on her back. Nguyen then sat up and saw her mangled foot against her shin. This is just one of the many sad stories about the devastation that landmines have caused. The landmines left over from the Vietnam War has killed and injured many people but there are worldwide programs helping pay for injuries, for detonation, and landmine awareness.
