Kaffir Boy

    Kaffir Boy Essay In Kaffir Boy, by Mark Mathabane, the boy does not want to go to school, the mother wants what’s best for her child and in the end, the two understand one another. The boy feels distracted by his peers and pressure from his mother. The mother wants him to succeed as a person. She also does not want him to be denied the privilege of going to school like other South Africans. When the story ends, they both realize what one another is thinking and feeling inside. There are a couple different reasons the boy does not want to go to school. His peers influence his ideas and the decision he makes out on the streets. This often gets him in trouble. He is introduced to violence at an early age.
