Endangered Species
“An endangered species is any plant or animal which is in danger of extinction throughout all or a significant portion of its range.” Even though federal and national government agencies have past many laws and regulations to help endangered species and to try to prevent the addition of more species to the endangered species list, the amount of species on the list has not dropped as significantly as they were predicted to. (Endangered species)
“So far, 18 animals and 5 plants have been removed from the U.S. endangered species list. The bad news is that eight, like the dusky seaside sparrow, were removed because they became extinct. Eight others, like the Pine Barrens tree frog, were removed because it turned out they were more common than scientists first thought.” (Are)
“Extinction is a natural process. As species become extinct they are replaced by other species, which are more suited to a particular environment. All species become extinct sooner or later. Even humans could become extinct.” (Burton)
Endangered species need to be saved because they have medical, agricultural, ecological, commercial, and recreational value to humans and the world. (Blashfield)
