Film Review: Sons of the wind
Hijos del viento is a story of love and adventure set against the epic background of the conquest of Mexico by the Spaniards during the 1800’s. Produced by Antonio Pozueco in 1998 and directed by Jose Miguel Juarez, this film stars Carlos Fuentes, Ursula Murayama, and Bud Spencer.
The “sons of the wind” are believed to be the ancient followers of the Aztec king, Quetzacoatl, who was banished from his kingdom by the ancient god of war, Huitzilopochli. Quetzacoatl was prophesized to resurface on earth as a man who would regain control of the Aztec empire and bring “an era of justice” back to the people.
