    MONOPOLIES AND THE UNITED STATES ANITTRUST POLICY Monopolies and United States Antitrust Policy Abstract This paper will discuss Monopolies and the United States Anittrust and policies. More specifically, the case regarding Johnson & Johnson will be explained as it relates to the said topics. In the Untied States, we put forth laws to see that large corporations do not violate our economical freedom. In the case of Johnson & Johnson, which has cases that date back to 1998, we see that by Johnson & Johnson creating a monopoly, they violated our economical freedom. By limiting their product availability to consumers, people had a hard time purchasing by mail or pharmaceutical. This made a large monopoly in the world of eye wear. We see now with the antitrust legislation in place that the United States is trying to stop monopolization, one corporation at a time. Promoting healthy eye services in the Unites States is an important issue for all Americans. More than 10% of the American population purchases contact lenses.
