Portland art exhibit review
I went to Portland to view pieces at a gallery called Jazz. The first piece I looked at was a slab pot that was made out of a very rough kind of clay which was very similar to the previous piece I mentioned. This piece was slab with coils running up the sides (sort of diagonally) and it had a lid that was shaped to match the rest of the pot (including the coils running up the side of the piece). The lid seemed to fit seamlessly. The base of this pot seemed to be possibly two separate pieces that were connected together at a center point where the coils stopped (towards the middle of the piece). I liked the detail of the work especially the exceptional lid on this piece.
