Mexico The country of Mexico is located in the middle of the continent of North America. It is bordered by the United States of America on the North, Guatemala and Belize on the South, the Pacific Ocean on the West and the Atlantic on the East. Mexico is bordered by the Rio Grande and is home to the Sierra Madre mountain range and the Yucatan Peninsula (Allen pp.3-4). This paper will describe some of the information related to Mexico’s current human and natural resources, economy, and the country’s social issues. Natural Resources Mexico is one of the world’s major producers of Petroleum (Allen, p.20). Other resources located in the country include the following critical metals: copper, iron ore, lead, and zinc (Allen, p.21). Production of food products in the country ranges from 70 to 75 million tons a year almost half of which is sugar cane.
