Athletes work day and night for years to transform their bodies into finely tuned machines ready to perform whatever task their sport calls for. Athletes have also been known to use whatever they can to gain an advantage in training and performance. As the effects of steroids became widely known and witnessed, and use of steroids and things of that nature banned from most major athletic competition, a new aid was sought. It seems, to many, that the miracle potion that everyone was looking for has finally arrived. It is estimated that as many as half of all Olympians who competed at the 2000 Olympic games in Sydney, Australia had trained while using Creatine.(France) What is startling about that percentage is that a good number of athletes competing were not involved in a sport that would see them benefit from creatine supplementation, meaning that virtually all who could possibly benefit, chose to use the supplement.
