The book, The Moves Make the Man, is about an interracial friendship between a black boy named Jerome Foxworthy and Braxton Rivers, the white boy they call Bix. The story is told by Jerome, and he is writing the book himself and telling the story of the friendship while doing so. The title of the book refers to Jerome’s teaching Bix the game of basketball.
