The Study of Attention Deficit Disorder
Abstract
Attention deficit hyperactive disorder is a neurobiological condition characterized by developmentally inappropriate level of attention, concentration, activity, distractibility, and impulsivity. While doing this research I found that a professional must properly diagnose you. Not everyone who that is overly, hyperactive, inattentive, or impulsive has an attention disorder. Professional make their diagnosis by determining if the behavior the person is exhibiting is long –term; or is it just a response to a temporary situation. The behavior the person exhibits must create a real handicap in at least two areas of a person’s life such as school, home, work, or social settings. The present study was designed to investigate what made my often-impulsive childhood friend Jaroddo run into the street with cars. No matter how many times his mother explained the danger. As a result he was hit by an oncoming car, which caused him to be paralyzed from the waste down. For decades, medications have been used to treat the symptoms of ADHD.
