I’m here to prove that my wife isn’t a witch. Have you ever thought, Mr. Danforth, that all of the ‘so called’ witches are lying? I’m not denying the existence of witches, I’m only stating that my wife, Elizabeth cannot be one. She is an honest upright woman, who if she lied, she’d only do it to protect my name. According to law, witches are incapable of reciting the Ten Commandments. Test her, she will prevail. Also, even if you truly desired to hang her, she is with child so you can’t, for it is unlawful. Furthermore, Reverend Hale, an expert on witchcraft and witch hunting is convinced that she cannot be a witch. I entreat you Mr. Danforth reconsider your judgement.
