Old Hamlet killed Fortinbras, King of Norway, in a battle. This permitted King Hamlet to all the land that was owned by the late Fortinbras. Old Hamlet was the ruler of Denmark, and Prince Hamlet's father. The brother of Old Hamlet, Claudius killed him with poison so he could get the throne and marry his wife. Polonius was an advisor to the King of Denmark, and Laertes father. Prince Hamlet killed him in the bedroom scene with his mother. Hamlet heard someone in the curtains and assumed it was Claudius. Powered by rage he assailed the curtains with his sword and kill Polonious who was eves dropping on them. The thing that separates each of the sons is the way in which they went about reconciling their fathers' murder.
