Glamorama
Victor Ward’s motto, “the better you look the more you see” (31) is a line he repeats over and over and it gives us incite to who he is as a person. Throughout Glamorama, his personal philosophy is driven from this very line. As his personality develops, we find out more about what his motto truly means. Everything from his attitude to his values revolves around his motto.
By saying, “the better you look the more you see” Victor means because of his looks he gets treated differently. Since Victor is a good looking guy, he has many opportunities such as opening his own night club, dating big time super model Chloe Byrnes, hanging with supreme celebrities, and dressing in “Armani suits that cost as much as cars” (44). Victor’s so focused on his exterior that he doesn’t see it right away but the people around him begin to manipulate him and take advantage of him. Bobby and his model friends recruit Victor to their international terrorist cell based on the fact that he is an attractive model. They know he is someone who can easily be manipulated and is somebody without any “answers” (327). As Victor steps out of his own personal world of glitz and fame, he begins to realize and see what is really going on around
