Unforgiven - Character Relationships

    The film Unforgiven was the recipient of the 1992 Academy Awards for both the Best Film and the Best Director. The release of the movie Unforgiven rekindled public interest in Western genres. Unforgiven was the third ever recipient of the Best Picture Award following Cimarron (1930/31) and Dances With Wolves (1990). So the question is, what factor, or which factors brought about the successful production and direction of the film Unforgiven? The setting is in 1880, the “Wild Wild West” of the United States. William Munny is a former notorious killer about to set out on one more bounty hunt. The film tackled issues of friendship, loyalty, bravery, violence, pride, revenge and morals. This interesting array of issues, coupled with magnificent acting on the parts of Clint Eastwood (William Munny), Morgan Freeman (Ned Logan), Gene Hackman (Little Bill), Jaimz Woolvett (Schofield Kid) and Frances Fisher (Strawberry Alice) captured the true essence of the Wild West.
