Gordon Kahl and the Posse Comitatus
Abstract
Gordon Kahl was a hard-working farmer, a war hero, and a religious man who had obeyed and respected the government for most of his life. His views on the government changed though when his income became low due to poor farm prices and he had little money to spare. Gordon took it upon himself to stop paying his taxes in 1968. Soon Gordon got himself in deep when he became Texas coordinator of the Posse Comitatus in 1975. With him being in the FBI’s top ten wanted, he was hunted down several times before they actually had caught Gordon Kahl for good.
