Life or Liberty

    Abortion today is defined as the termination of pregnancy before birth, resulting in, or accompanied by, the death of the fetus. Some abortions occur naturally because a fetus does not develop normally or because the mother has an injury or disorder that prevents her from carrying the pregnancy to term. This type of spontaneous abortion is commonly known as miscarriage. Other abortions are induced, that is, brought on because a pregnancy is unwanted or presents a risk to a woman’s health There are two vastly different groups that represent both sides of abortion. The first group is pro-choice. The pro-choice group supports that a female is a human being with the intellect to decide for herself weather or not she wishes to carry her child to term within the current given parameters of her personal living situation. Pro-choice further supports her right to act upon this decision. Organizations such as Planned Parenthood consider themselves pro-choice and assist women in making educated decisions regarding their pregnancy. The second group is referred to as pro-life.
