Hybrid-Electric Cars and the Impact on the Environment
I. A Vital Resource for the Future
Automobiles have been a large part of our society in America for a long time, and it doesn’t look like that will change anytime soon. The problem is, however, that the energy source they require to operate is quickly diminishing and becoming more expensive. Add this to the pollution automobiles cause, and it begins to look bad for the relationship between our world and the future of gasoline-powered vehicles. This is why Hybrid Engines are a necessary step for our society to retain our current mobile lives while conserving gasoline and reducing air pollution.
First of all, gasoline will not last forever. Oil, which is required to make gasoline, is a non-renewable resource. Several people don’t believe will run out of oil, because there is so much that is undiscovered or just difficult and expensive to reach (Discover www.findarticles.com). Although it is true, we are uncertain how much oil is still undiscovered, the amount used vastly outnumbers the amount found in new sources (www.sciam.com). That is a good indication that oil production is slowing down, not because of choice, but because it isn’t as easy to find. There is less of it.
