“Do you pay your own car insurance?”, asked Janet. This is my friend Susan’s mom.
“No” I reply.
“Oh, well you must have two parents then?”
“Yes” I say.
“Oh, well aren’t you lucky!”.
And that’s when I realize how lucky I am that I have both parents who are happily married. Many children grow up in single parent homes. Divorce is a terrifying situation. A promise the husband and wife made earlier to be loyal and faithful to each other forever is being broken. About half of all marriages in the United States today end up failing; they result in divorce. Divorces occur for three main reasons: financial differences, abuse, and a failure to compromise.
