History of American Government
Part I: Provide a history of the formation of the constitution and of early American government through Jefferson's Presidency. Conclude this section with a description of the structure of American government [all branches] and politics at that time.
The history of American government starts several year before there was even an American government with a series of events mainly between the British colonies and Great Britain developing into problems that would cause a change of power to the colonists themselves. Under British rule colonists were required to feed and quarter British soldiers in large number without compensation or even necessarily respect from the receiving soldiers, which may have caused the soldiers to become tyrannical and oppressive to the colonists, murders (Boston Massacre) and crimes committed by these troops against colonists created much hatred toward those soldiers. With all of the troops staying in these colonies they did not offer much in the way of service as a military in protection against Native Americans and other policing duties. To add insult to injury the colonists were progressively being taxed more for reasons deemed by Great Britain, on of which was the ever so protective military. All
