When we hear psychology, we usually think of someone having us lay down in a chair and sit there and ask us questions about our daily life. When in fact, psychology is in our daily lives yet we hardly recognize it. From dealing with stress to subconsciously being controlled by others, psychology does have an great impact on our lives.
In recent insurance industry studies, nearly half of American workers say their job is "very or extremely stressful" and 27 percent said their job was the greatest source of stress in their life. More specifically, a study by the Northwestern National Life Insurance Company found that 53 percent of supervisors and 34 percent of non-supervisors consider their jobs highly stressful. The stress that is placed on an individual at their workplace can be very damaging. It has even been proven that stress can cause heart disease. But what about all of the other emotional and physical damage that it causes? According to the American Psychological Association, 43 percent of all adults suffer adverse health effects from stress.
