In the classroom, problems children have are sometimes ignored or undiagnosed. According to Kym Meyer in her article, this is very true about students with mild-to-moderate hearing loss. These children may be labeled as having Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or as having behavioral problems. Testing children at very young ages for hearing loss is the best way to ensure a child will not go undiagnosed, and will not fall behind in school. The three most important people who are involved with helping children who have hearing loss are the educational audiologist, the parents, and the educators.
