D.C. TALK
D.C. talk got together early 1989 and released their first self-titled album late of that year. In 1990 they released an album called ‘Nu Thang’ and they also made a Christmas compilation called ‘Yo ho, ho’. It was that album that started them in the secular and also Christian scheme of music. That year and the next was a big 2 years for them as they also won a dove award and had a big tour. 1991 they released an album called ‘Free at last’ and it hit number 1 on the CCN music charts for 34 consecutive weeks. ‘Free at last’ was their third album and was released in 1992. Because of that C.D they made a movie called ‘free at last’. 1994 the Free at last album won them a Grammy award, for the best Rock Gospel album. Their next C.D was ‘Jesus Freak’ in ’95 and it went platinum pretty quickly because they had the most first week sales for any Christian music C.D up till that day. They had a huge tour with that C.D called ‘The Freak Show’ and it was probably the biggest tour they had ever done going through the U.S, Canada and Europe. This C.D also got them into mainstream a lot more with the secular release of ‘Just between you and me’. It made it to #12 on a popular top 40 chart. The film
