Chasing Amy

    Chasing Amy (1997) is a film by writer/director Kevin Smith, it is the last movie in what has been called the Jersey Trilogy (which consists of his other films, Clerks (1994) and Mallrats (1995). Chasing Amy stars Ben Affleck as Holden McNeil, Joey Lauren Adams as Alyssa Jones and Jason Lee as Banky Edwards. Chasing Amy is about two friends, Holden and Banky, who are comic book artists working on their own comic Bluntman and Chronic, at a comic book convention Banky and Holden assist their friend and fellow colleague in the world of comics, Hooper LaMont with a publicity stunt to promote his book on the minority panel. Hooper is on the panel because he is a black man, who is also gay. Hooper is later says that he is; "the minority in the minority of the minority." Also on the panel is Alyssa Jones, who is presumably on the panel because she is a woman, and in the comic industry, this is a rarity. Hooper, Alyssa, Banky and Holden all get together after the convention to talk. Holden grows attached to Alyssa and later admits to Banky that they, "shared a moment." Holden's feelings for Alys
