Pulp Fiction Analysis
Although Pulp Fiction is undoubtedly a bloody, graphic, and somewhat grotesque picture, people seem to be able to relate to it rather well. When looking at the broad plot (or plots) of Pulp Fiction it may seem like just another “ultra-violent” film. However, when we look closer at the characters, and the conversations they have with other people (and themselves), it becomes clear that they are everyday people affected by the same emotions we are. By having the main characters, whose professions and ties to mobs and gangsters would normally horrify “normal” people, have the same thoughts and concerns as “normal” people, Quentin Tarantino establishes a connection between the audience and the characters in the movie that allows them to see past Pulp Fiction’s bloody blanket.
Butch plays an important role in Pulp Fiction. Butch is a very moral and caring person. He cares about his girlfriend, Fabienne, and this is shown after the incident where she forgets his watch, and Butch is forced to go back and risk his life to get his Gold Watch. At first Butch is extremely upset that she has left the watch, but in the end he cools down: “If you did leave it at the apartment, it’s not your fault … I didn’t illustrate h
