Patty
Patty is the strongest person I have ever met. As a child she developed diabetes, in her
twenties she had a troubled pregnancy, in her thirties her kidneys failed and she had to
have a kidney and pancreas transplant. Six months ago Patty was diagnosed with stomach
cancer. She undergoes chemotherapy and she no longer has any hair but she still keeps a
big smile on her face. I met Patty through her daughter Niki who I became friends with in
elementary school. Niki was a year younger then me so we always played together. The
eight years that I have known Patty she has always been very happy and upbeat no matter
what comes her way.
When Patty was in her childhood she was extremely obese which caused her to
develop Juvenile Diabetes. She was in and out of the hospital because of her diabetes and
