Music Phenomenon of Metallica

    It was on October 28th 1981 when drummer Lars Ulrich makes the first step for the creation of Metallica. It was the day when he makes James Hetfield, guitar player and singer, the offer to join him and create a band. The next step was the joining of Dave Mustaine in lead guitar duties and Ron McGoveny (Hetfield’s friend and housemate) in bass. So, they began performances in Los Angeles, area opening for bands like Saxon. After the circulation of their demo “No Life Til Leather” they managed to stirred up some interest in the underground metal, community especially in San Francisco and New York. There were also in San Francisco when they met Cliff Burton, a very talented bass player who finally joined Metallica. In early 1983, Jon Zazula discovered Metallica and started the procedures for the recording of their first album. But, just before the release of this album, Mustaine´s drinking problems necessitated his replacement. It was on April 1st when the lead guitar player Kirk Hammet joins Metallica. So, Metallica’s first album, “Kill’Em All”, is released in late 1983. That was the beginning of a glorious career for the band.
