Marriage Supper of the Lamb
“Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.” (Revelation 19:9)
Everyone loves a love story, and what better love story than that of the Marriage of the Lamb? This is a marriage such as could never be imagined on this earth, for it is the wedding of the Son of God to the One whom the Father has chosen to be His Bride. If you can imagine the affections and expectations of a wedding in our human terms, how much more does all heaven anticipate the day when the Father will present the Bride to His Son, the bridegroom?
This story of the marriage of the Lamb cannot be viewed only under the microscope of today’s society, but needs to be compared to the time in which the story was written and the customs of that day. There are three major parts to this form of wedding; the betrothal, the presentation, and the marriage or the marriage supper.
Marriage was not a young man and a young woman deciding to further their relationship, it was a contract that two young people had no choice or say in.
