Hip-Hop is a successful culture that is well known across the world. Hip-Hop culture is made up of music, dance, art, poetry, language, and fashion. Its originators were inner city youths who needed to express themselves. Hip-Hop is now a multi-billion dollor industry that is recognized arpund the world, but is composed of four components. The four components are: deejaying, emceeing, breaking, and writing, these are known as the four elements of Hip-Hop. Hip-Hop deejaying, scratching, or turntablism, is a complex art. Through the use of deejaying techniques cutting, mixing, scratching, and sampling are used to create a new track from the original song. Deejaying origins are found throughout Jamaica in the 1950's and 1960's. This was a very innovative time for deejays.
