Interview of Nohemy Menbreno
Nohemy Menbreno, Pipestone, MN, is a woman who enjoys living and working in the United States. Born in Belize City, Central America, she has experienced both American and Central American cultures. I believe her ability to adapt would make her a great employee. My work as Nohemy’s manager would be full of various tasks and learning experiences. There are many things I would consider if Nohemy worked for me.
Nohemy Menbreno has an interesting history. Her father, a black-African, is a large farmer and professional carpenter from a wealthy family. Her mother is of Mexican dissent and came from a poor family. This background makes Nohemy a Mestizo (Encarta Encyclopedia Article, 2003).
Although education is free until the seventh grade, in Central America, most children don’t attend established educational facilities. The seventh, eighth, and ninth grades, which aren’t free, are considered high school. Tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades are “college” and more expensive than high school. As a teenager, Nohemy attended high school at night and worked during the day. This demonstrates her motivation.
