Getting Away With Murder
In 1973, in the landmark case of Roe vs. Wade, the United States Supreme Court ruled that the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution provided a fundamental right for women to obtain abortions (Abortion Law Homepage). When the courts made the decision to allow abortions to be legal, they not only gave women the right to choose but also gave the unborn babies a right to die. Many people believe that abortion is a legal way of allowing women to commit murder. Pro-choice advocates make their fight for the rape and incest victims who choose not to give birth. What most people do not know is that the total abortions made because of rape or incest is one in every two thousand abortions (Rape and Incest). That truly is not a valid reason to have abortions on demand for everyone. Most abortions are performed because of social reasons such as: the father has disappeared, there is not enough money to support the baby, people may respond badly, or because they are just not ready for responsibility. If a woman or girl is ready for the responsibility of having sex than she should fully accept the responsibility of the consequences, the baby.
