U.S. Foreign Policy
The ruthless destruction of life and property in Washington, D.C., and New York on Sept. 11, was not only an American tragedy, it was a tragedy of global dimension. People from 80 countries and all religious backgrounds were among the victims.
World leaders offered simple responses. They stated we were targeted because of our freedom and our wealth. Why wasn't Japan targeted? Why wasn't Germany targeted? Both are free and wealthy. The real reason is the nature of American foreign policy. A policy that has contributed to many nations' miseries.
