    U.S. targets Iraqi leaders in hope of sparing others By John Walcott and Tom Infield This article talks about how the United States decided to jump off to a quick start by trying to eliminate Saddam, his sons, and high-level officials right away. They targeted a location in Baghdad where U.S. intelligence believed these people, and more, were located at. Nobody knows whether or not Saddam is indeed dead, because the person shown on television doesn’t look exactly like Hussein. Bush ordered this strike to, as he says, “spare thousands of lives, American, allied and Iraqi.” The article then talks about how eliminating Saddam early on would probably cause a large portion of the Iraqi military to simple throw down their weapons and not fight at all. U.S. officials are hoping that that happens, so no people have to die. If Saddam is alive, the US plans wants to get Hussein out of power and restore a democracy since the current
