Bull Riding
Hold on to your hat, because you're in for the ride of your life!
Bull riding is the epitome of rodeo excitement. Nothing quite compares with man vs. beast when one outweighs the other by about 10 to one. With nothing but a rope separating them, the cowboy must hang on to the rope with one hand for eight seconds.
With 2,000-plus pounds of angry beast doing everything in its power to toss you off, you will need the following equipment for bull riding. First you need a Protective Vest,
The vest not only absorbs shock, and it dissipates it over a larger area. The vest is made of a material called Kevlar, the same material used to make bulletproof vests .The vest also protects the torso from punctures and cuts inflicted by hooves and horns. Then you need rosin. A sticky substance that provides a little extra grip. Next is a glove that is made of thick yet soft leather, and protects a cowboy's hand and fingers from rope burn. It also makes it easier to hold onto the bull rope. Then the bull rope is what the bull rider hangs on to throughout the ride. This is the flat rope that goes around the bull behind his front legs.
