GEORGE WASHINGTON
versus
WILLIAM JEFFERSON CLINTON.
It may seem a slightly precarious enterprise to compare the first president of the United States of America, the Father of the country – George Washington, with the 41st president – William Jefferson Clinton. The former was, and still is, the symbol of presidency that Americans are proud of, while the latter diminished the authority and damaged the prestige of the occupying position by numerous scandals concerning his private life. However, it is surprising how these two do bear striking similarities with regards to their leadership in America.
George Washington was brought up by “country gentlemen” - a wealthy family settled in Virginia for four generations. When young George was 11 years old, his father died and he was taken care of by his step-brother, Lawrence. As a result, he obtained very superficial education. Owing to Washington’s big physique and body strength, a military career was foresaw to him. He was a truly brave and ready to sacrifice soldier.
