King Phillip War

    The King Philip’s War and The American Revolution were conflicts in which the parties involved desired freedom, control over U.S. land, and running the nation the way each saw fit. In the King Philip’s War the Indians were fighting against the colonists, both wanted control over the territories and over each other. War was crucial for both parties because they were not working together and they could not reach a common goal. Many Colonists were using the Indians as slave labor and abusing them as well as the Indians in turn destroying the Colonial villages. The violence grew as the war began. War was necessary because neither group could trust in the other. The Indians though they were befriending the Colonists then in turn the Colonists accuse them of pagan acts and plotting against them, to then in hang them to die or post their head on a stick. The tension was far too great and the natives wanted to protect their land while at the same time the colonists felt it was their God given right to protect this new land. The main factor that brought them to war was fear. The parties involved feared what the other could do to them and their family.
