Painting in Realism Form
As I looked back to my notes from the first week of class back in September, I read over what I was hoping to learn from taking this class. I had to laugh a bit at first because I said that I wanted to become a better painter and have more confidence with my abilities to paint. Then I thought about it for a minute and realized, that even though I know I am not a wonderful painter, I have improved a lot, that's not to say that I still do not have a while to go and a lot more to learn. I have learned how to mix colors, I have experimented with many combinations to get different shades and colors, and that I am very please with. I had also stated in my goals for this class that I wanted to become a better realistic painting. I think I want to posses this skill because I feel that when outsiders (people who do not have a complete understand of art) look at art they only like to see realistic things, because that is all they know how to understand. That is why being able to paint realistically is so important to me, even thought it really should not matter what other people think about me.
