    Legalizing Gambling The legalization of public gambling for the state of Nebraska could improve the economy in many different ways. There are many thoughts on why legalizing gambling would be a good idea, but it is all viewed differently from person to person. It all depends if one has any experience in the area or not. I believe that many good things would happen to our state if we were able to have casinos. On the opposing side, however, gambling also has an addictive effect, and can embrace ones life, or ruin it. I have heard of studies that were done over the years to indicate that gambling is a disease, much like alcoholism. It seems like gambling is almost a bigger deal here because there aren’t as many things to do, as in other states. I feel that Iowa is greatly benefiting from the citizens of Omaha because they spend all their hard earned money in the Iowa casinos. Nebraska gets nothing out of it. Iowa in a way has been taking Nebraska tax money, due to the fact that some of their employees are from Nebraska itself. Some say they don’t deny that casinos can be profitable, but they
