Working with Children
My aim was to work with a small group of children. To teach them craft skills and end up with a finished Easter card and Easter rabbit ears. The end product was to be of a standard to give to a relative or a friend.
I worked with Ridgehaven Joeys. I had decided to do a craft activity with them, which was to make an Easter card and Easter rabbit ears. I worked with the children for about two hours, excluding the time I spent explaining my activity to the Joey leaders and cleaning up.
The process I took was to find a place to do my study. I thought of many different places, such as a school or local youth group. I decided on a youth group, because I did work experience at a school last year and didn’t enjoy it too much. I decided to do my study with Ridgehaven scout group.
I looked up the group’s number in my phone book, under Scout groups. I called the number that was in the phone book, but the Modbury Guides answered the phone. They explained to me that they share the hall with the scouts and that they weren’t there on Mondays. Instead they gave me the group leader’s number, who’s name was Val Mott.
