Writing for me is almost like my mom trying to get me to clean my room before my friends come over or want me to come out. See, I always want to go do something else when writing is the most important thing at that time. I don’t think ADD makes it any easier to write either, I get distracted by the smallest things, like someone walking past in the hallway and I just go off into space for 5 minutes. I guess what I’m really trying to say is that I don’t like writing and I don’t like cleaning my room. The hardest part of writing for me is when I have to just sit down and get started on something that I know is going to take awhile. It’s like when you have the choice to either vacuum the floor of your room or just sweep the extra debris under your bed. Just as the teacher will check the grammar on your paper you just know that your mom will be checking underneath your bed. This part of my writing is very dangerous; I can get distracted by just about anything, because at that point in time everything is more interesting than writing.
